Millions of People Living Below Poverty Line Could Have Their Lifeline Shut Off
This hits home with me, because where I live there are a lot of people below the poverty line. My own Grandmother, 82, on Social Security had her lifeline shut off last year and was left with an outstanding bill she can’t pay. So many people rely on these benefits.
Last week, Free Press Action and [their] allies gathered outside the FCC headquarters in Washington, D.C., to speak out against the agency’s brutal plan to rollback Lifeline — a program that helps millions of people living below the poverty line access telephone and internet services.
