BREAKING: U.S. Forces In Iraq Targeted by ‘More Than a Dozen Ballistic Missiles” Fired by Iran …
BREAKING: Iran fired ‘more than a dozen ballistic missiles’ in attacks on US military, coalition forces in Iraq, Pentagon says
Missiles were fired early Wednesday in multiple locations across Iraq, a senior U.S. military source in the country told Fox News, describing it as a series of attacks on U.S. forces from Iran.
Iran fired “more than a dozen ballistic missiles” into Iraq, targeting U.S. military and coalition forces early Wednesday, Pentagon officials said, in a major retaliation by the rogue regime after the U.S. airstrike that killed Iranian Quds Force Gen. Qassem Soleimani last week.
The missiles launched by Iran targeted military bases in Al-Assad and Erbil, the Pentagon added.
A government source told Fox News the early reports out of Iraq showed that the missiles have had little impact. The source said so far there have been no reports of U.S. casualties. The extent of damage was unclear.
White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said after the attack: “We are aware of the reports of attacks on U.S. facilities in Iraq. The president has been briefed and is monitoring the situation closely and consulting with his national security team.” It was not immediately clear how the U.S. may respond.
