Fired for being a Christian.

That’s exactly what happened to former Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran, who was fired for merely publishing a book about his religious beliefs and preserving Traditional Values.

As you may recall, Public Advocate led the fight in defending the former Fire Chief’s right to Religious Liberty in the past.

Now, Cochran has joined Public Advocate in fighting to ensure this never happens again in America.

At a recent Congressional hearing on the First Amendment Defense Act (S. 1598), Cochran lambasted the Left’s war on Religious Liberty.

“After being born and raised in poverty, I rose to become the first African-American Fire Chief in the city of Shreveport, Louisiana, and ultimately held the highest fire office in the nation…

…despite these achievements, government officials used the very religious convictions that fueled my professional success to bring an end to my career in public service,” Cochran concluded.

He went on to say that government is the biggest threat to Religious Liberty.

And despite an investigation, there was not a single complaint of discrimination towards an employee who agreed or even disagreed with pro-Family beliefs.

Only when the mayor of Atlanta, Georgia, Kasim Reed, decided Religious Liberty was null and void, were there any issues with Mr. Cochran’s book.

Mayor Reed declared that the right to Religious Freedom — an idea America was founded on — would no longer be tolerated.

Unfortunately, Mayor Reed’s actions are just a glimpse of the Homosexual Lobby’s intent to destroy religious Liberty and any expression of faith with their radical agenda.

Mayor Reed deemed Cochran guilty of a “thought crime” and –- much to the joy of the radical Homosexual Lobby –- Cochran was fired for expressing his Religious beliefs.

But as the President of Public Advocate, I’m committed to using our 35 years of grassroots expertise to defend Religious Liberty in America.
