A Happy Ending For One Liberal and One Conservative Disagreeing – Twitter CEO Apologizes
The left has a habit of calling anyone they disagree with part of the “far-right”. This time however, one of the biggest platform responsible for curating trending topic made a huge mistake. They called Candace Owens “far-right”. Owens is one of the biggest voices for liberating the African American community from”group-think.” Liberals don’t like it when a powerful black woman is gaining prominence so they’re putting labels on her.
“Far right? Allow me to clarify: I believe the black community can do it without hand-outs. I believe the Democrats have strapped us to our past to prevent us from our futures. And I won’t stop fighting until all black Americans see that. I’m not far right—I’m free,” Owens complained.
The CEO of Twitter apologized to Owens today and she graciously accepted the apology.
“Hi Candace. I want to apologize for our labeling you “far right.” Team completed a full review of how this was published and why we corrected far too late (12 hrs after). There was a clear break in our curation process and understanding, and we’re fixing. Thanks for calling out,” wrote Jack Dorsey.
“Thank you, Jack! I fully accept your apology. It’s important that despite political differences, we remember the human beings whose lives we impact. Perhaps the other platforms that ran away with this vicious smear, will follow your lead and right this wrong. Thank you again,” Owens replied.
It’s nice that Candace Owens accepted Jack’s apology, but until Twitter apologizes to all of the people they have suspended for political reasons and restores all of their accounts, our feels about the platform remains unchanged.
