Connecticut Approves GMO Labeling! Sort of.Last year’s defeat of California’s Prop 37 to label GMOs was a major setback for those of us who believe we have the right to know what’s in our food. But now from the other side of the country comes a glimmer of hope. Connecticut has become “the first state to pass a bill that would require food manufacturers to label products that contain genetically modified ingredients—but only after other conditions are met,” says The New York Times. One of the conditions of the bill makes it contingent upon four other states passing similar legislation. Hey, it’s a start. Thanks, Connecticut!Keep fighting the good fight,Eric Hurlock Online Editor Source: The New York Times |
