On January 23, he signed an executive order mandating the “full and complete release” of files related to JFK’s death, as well as the 1968 assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. The JFK portion of this directive came to fruition on March 18, 2025, when the National Archives released approximately 80,000 pages of unredacted documents, including 2,400 newly identified FBI records uncovered in February.
Trump hailed the release as a triumph of transparency, stating, “Everything will be revealed.” The documents, now accessible online and in person at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland, include CIA memos, FBI reports, and Warren Commission interviews. Early analyses by historians and researchers, reported on March 19 and 20, reveal intriguing details but no seismic shifts in the established narrative.
