Life Reverses …
With Jesus, Life Always Wins

Jesus, you went with Jairus to heal her 12-year-old girl, but when death knew Your intention and saw You on the move, he also took off, rushing to kill the girl before Your arrival.
In his heart, death wanted a situation, whereby, Jairus would blame You for arriving late at his house, after You took time off to attend to the woman with the issue of blood.
It was to label you a perpetual latecomer, just as Mary and Martha did in the case of their brother, Lazarus.
Jesus, You will recall you gave death the opportunity to take a four-day lead in the case of Lazarus before your ‘late arrival’ turned everything around.
In the case of Jairus’ daughter, would my Lord have missed death rushing past Him to get to the little girl?
I am quite sure that while You were attending to the bleeding woman, You must have, in Your spirit, seen death celebrating Your delay ‘once again’.
To emphasise this, the servant of Jairus, who came to break the news of the death of his daughter to him, simply told Jairus that it was no longer necessary to trouble You again. After all, death had beaten You to the soul of the young girl.
To the servant, seeing You coming with Jairus after death had operated, was a waste of time and effort.
What manner of a healer would waste time attending to another person, using the slot of Jairus, the man who first called on Him?
If Jairus had not gone to invite You, would You have passed the route the woman met You?
So, why should Jairus further trouble the Saviour, who left him to attend to another person?
“Sir, you will remember that your daughter was still alive when you rushed out, telling us you’ll be back with Jesus to heal her.
“Well, now you’re here with the so-called Jesus, only that your daughter has passed on.
“What else is there to expect from this your Jesus after the strike of death?
“Sir, allow Him to go back; your daughter is dead. Death has again beaten Your Jesus to it!”
Dear Lord, but you saw death rushing down, yet you ignored him. You knew he was racing down to kill, yet you kept Your peace.
Were You thinking it would be an insult competing or racing with death?
Surely, while death is scary to humanity, for his blow is irreversible, You must have kept quiet, knowing that You can, at Your arrival, reverse or upturn anything death might have done.
The question is, can the Resurrection and the Life be afraid of death? Never!
So, while death raced to kill, steal and destroy, You took Your time to attend to the bleeding woman and when You were satisfied, You walked in casually, yet with authority, into the compound of Jairus.
The sad news startled Jairus, but before he could utter a (wrong) word, You scorned death by saying that all he did, (looking like a big deal), was simply to put the little girl to sleep.
“I hope this man is not beside himself. Is death the same as sleep? Jairus, where did you find this clown you call a healer?”
Jesus, they laughed at Your seeming ignorance and stupidity. They believed You were a damn fool for not being able to differentiate between death and sleep.
If only they knew You were only trying to tell them that the best from death was as ordinary as putting her to sleep; just as a tired person would sleep.
To make it clearer to them, You approached the young ‘dead’ girl and, in one of the easiest ways to shame death, You simply said, almost whispering, “Little girl, arise!”
As the girl rose, to convince the people that You weren’t presenting them a ghost, You ordered she be served her meal.
This should silence them, except they have seen an eating ghost before.
O My God! You proved it again – nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, stays dead in the presence of LIFE.
By the way, death stood at a corner, regretting his vain run. He knew he had, once again, suffered a defeat.
Life will always win! (Mark 5:21-43)
