Biden [signed] an executive order that directs Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Xavier Becerra to consider actions to help mothers traveling out of state to receive “reproductive health care,” according to the Washington Post and CNN.
According to Lifenews, the order will allow HHS to channel taxpayer money from Medicaid to cover the expenses of these out of state trips mothers are taking. This will happen at the first meeting of the Task Force on Reproductive Healthcare Access, a notorious step forward in Biden’s pro-abortion policy lineup to fight back against the Dobbs decision from two months ago.
In a memo about the order, Biden said the following:
The Executive Order directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to consider action to advance access to reproductive healthcare services including through Medicaid for patients who travel out of state for reproductive healthcare services. This directive is in line with the President and the Attorney General’s clear statements on the Administration’s commitment to defending the bedrock right to travel across state lines to seek reproductive healthcare in states where those services remain legal.
