An Overwhelming 76,836 Emails Flooded Senators With a Single, Unified Message: DON’T DRAFT OUR DAUGHTERS!
Victory: Congress Drops Plan To Draft Women Into Armed Forces
American Family Association reports:
After the House of Representatives passed the Democrats’ National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which included forcing women 18-25 years old to register for the military draft, the Senate took up the bill.
In response to [the] AFA Action Alert, an overwhelming 76,836 emails flooded senators with a single, unified message: Don’t draft our daughters!
Enough senators were influenced by you and AFA to recognize that drafting young women is unnecessary, dangerous, and would weaken the military’s readiness, lethality, and unit cohesion.
In the final version of the NDAA, the Senate Armed Services committee removed the provision from the bill. This victory is a testament to the difference that can be made when we work together.
