Federal Judge Orders HHS to Release Records On Purchases of Aborted Human Fetal Tissue

A federal judge has ordered the release of records from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) relating to the purchase of organs from aborted human fetuses following a years-long battle from conservative watchdog Judicial Watch to shed light on such information.
The Epoch Times reports that according to a court filing released on Monday, federal Judge Trevor N. McFadden of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled in favor of Judicial Watch on March 11, ordering two agencies under the HHS, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) hand over such documentation.
Both the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) purchased fetal organs from the California-based firm Advance Biosciences Resources (ABR), which partners with abortion giant Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers to procure the remains they broker for scientific research.

Judicial Watch initially filed a lawsuit in March 2019 after HHS failed to respond to a September 2018 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
Judicial Watch requested all contracts, payment records, communications, and documents related to HHS purchasing human organs from aborted fetuses.
The FDA and NIH then provided hundreds of documents but redacted some information under the FOIA’s exception 4, claiming such information is confidential and commercial.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton celebrated the judge’s decision, vowing it will expose what he described as a “grotesque” use of taxpayer funds.
