Texas Receives First Confirmed Coronavirus Case

Federal health officials announced Thursday that one person has tested positive for the coronavirus at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, which was designated as a site to temporarily house evacuees from China under quarantine. According to the San Antonio Express-News, the person with coronavirus is receiving medical care at an undisclosed hospital where they are in stable condition. The person was among a group of evacuees flown to Lackland on February 7 from the Hubei province. Of the 91 passengers on the flight, only this person showed symptoms of the coronavirus. It is the first confirmed coronavirus case in Texas.
