Over 239,000 Banquet Frozen Meals Recalled for Salmonella Contamination
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced a recall of 110,817 pounds of Banquet frozen meals due to possible salmonella contamination. The warning comes after Banquet’s producer Conagra Brand, Inc. received word from a supplier that a brownie mix dessert included in Banquet Chicken Nuggets with Mac & Cheese meal trays may have been made using tainted ingredients.
The recall affects 7.4oz vacuum-packed trays with the code: 3100080921 and a “best if used by” date of July 20, 2018. They also have a FSIS establishment number of “P-9” printed on the side of the box. According to the FSIS, these items were shipped to food retailers nationwide.
