Laredo Sector Border Patrol Continues to Apprehend Child Molesters

LAREDO, Texas – Within hours of each other, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Laredo South Station apprehended several convicted child molesters near Rio Bravo, Texas.

The first incident occurred during the early morning hours of June 17, when agents apprehended an individual south of Rio Bravo. Agents identified him as Guillermo Martinez-Pedraza, a 25-year-old Mexican National in the country illegally, who has a previous felony conviction for Sexual Assault-Carnal Knowledge of Child in Manassas, Virginia and received a three-year sentence of imprisonment.

The second incident occurred a few hours later, when agents apprehended Juan Francisco Leal-Coronado, a 31-year-old Mexican National in the country illegally, near the same area. Leal-Coronado has a previous felony conviction for Indecency with a Child/Exposes and Attempt to Commit in Houston and received an eight-month sentence of imprisonment.

The final incident occurred approximately an hour later in the same area, when agents apprehended Cesar Lopez-Pinon, a 33-year-old individual in the country illegally from the country of Mexico. Agents determined that he has an active warrant from Canton, Georgia for Molestation of a Minor.

All of the individuals were criminally charged for their immigration violations and remain in U.S. Border Patrol custody pending prosecution.

These apprehensions mark 11 arrests since May of this year by Laredo Sector agents of individuals with prior convictions or warrants involving sex crimes or abuse of children.

Despite the ongoing international COVID-19 pandemic, U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Laredo Sector continue to stand at the ready to secure the nation’s borders and prevent dangerous criminals from entering into the United States.
