BREAKING: Trump Is Going To Get His Military Parade But There Is a Catch
Last month, President Trump requested a “grand military parade” in Washington, inspired by the display he witnessed during France’s Bastille Day Parade.
His parade will happen, but according to the Pentagon, there will be limitations. Tanks won’t be allowed on public streets in Washington, due to the potential damage they can cause with their tracks. But wheeled vehicles will be allowed, along with a “heavy air component.”
Scheduled for Veteran’s Day, November 11, the original cost of the parade was expected to be anywhere from 10 to 30 million dollars. The Joint Chiefs of Staff released a memo announcing that “this parade will focus on the contributions of our Veterans throughout the history of the US Military, starting from the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 to today, with an emphasis on the price of freedom.”
White House budget director Mick Mulvaney presented the estimate of the parade’s cost, to which President Trump said in spite of the expense, the parade would be “great for our country.”
Trump endorses the parade, saying “we have a great country and we should be celebrating our country.” After being so impressed by the Bastille Day display, President Trump was inspired to honor the might of the US military in the same way, saying that “being a great president has to do with a lot of things, but one of them is being a great cheerleader for our country. And we’re going to show the people as we build up our military, we’re going to display our military.”
In late February, Trump called in to a Fox News show saying “we’ll see if we can do it at a reasonable cost, and if we can’t, we won’t do it, but the generals would love it, I can tell you, and so would I.”
President Trump’s parade idea also came off the heels of North Korea’s planned display of missiles and rockets for the purpose of scaring “the hell out of Americans” according to CNN.
Reuters reported that the District of Columbia Council is not thrilled with the idea of the parade, which would stroll from the US Capitol grounds to the White House, in a tweet that said “Tank but no tanks!”
Last month …
Liberal politicians claimed they were strongly against the thought of showing off the most powerful military in the world. The president was quickly criticized on every major news outlet.
But, thanks to the amazing wonders of the Internet, a video has resurfaced of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer vocally supporting a military parade happening on American soil in 2014. And not a single news outlet reacted negatively.
Contrary to the mainstream media headlines, it was not so long ago that a similar proposal to Trump’s military parade was made… by Democratic leadership.
The United States has actually held military parades since the at least 1865 — including one in Washington, D.C. in 1991. But, the fake news reports would never tell America that.
Just four-years ago, when Schumer suggested the call to arm’s, New York City’s liberal mayor, Bill de Blasio was in agreement.
“The brave men and women who have selflessly served our nation with courage and skill in Iraq and Afghanistan deserve a recognition for their sacrifice. I stand with Sen. Schumer in his call for a parade to honor our veteran heroes, and New York City would be proud to host this important event,” de Blasio said.
All the fake news media reports that Trump’s call for a military parade is a waste of time and money is just another way to divide America over a simple, patrotic idea. And this video proves how inconsistent and hypocritical the left really are —
